Victoria’s skilled migration program seeks to attract highly skilled and employable graduates in selected occupations that are difficult to source from the local labour market.
Priority industries for Victorian state visa nomination for international graduates are currently: Biotechnology and Science, and Health. Places are also available for graduates with a doctorate from a Victorian university in some fields.
Extensive research and industry consultation on Victoria’s current and forthcoming labour market needs is undertaken to identify graduate occupations suitable for state nomination.
This ensures that Victoria’s industries have the skills required to remain highly productive, and that international graduates who live and work in Victoria after completing their studies are well placed for employment in their nominated occupation.
Experienced skilled professionals and tradespeople should refer to the State Nomination Occupation List for Victoria.
